There was panic after seeing a crocodile on the banks of the old canal of Dhanauri.

(Kapil Kumar) Dhanauri. On Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at around 6 pm, the sighting of a crocodile on the banks of the old canal of Dhanauri area created a stir among the people nearby. It is being told that the water level in the canal is very low these days, due to which the crocodile was seen sitting on the banks of the canal instead of in the water.

Seeing the crocodile on the banks of the canal, the people present nearby informed the other villagers. Within some time a crowd of people gathered at the spot. Due to the presence of crocodile, there is concern about the safety of the people living around the canal.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the villagers have asked the concerned department to increase surveillance in the canal area and rescue the crocodile at a safe place. At the same time, people have been appealed to be careful while going along the canal.
