Demand for reinstatement of OPS and abolition of TET, mega movement of teachers and employees in Dehradun

(Kapil Kumar) Dehradun. A large number of teachers and employees from across the state gathered in Dehradun on Sunday demanding the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and abolishing the requirement of TET. Thousands of teachers, employees and retired employees from Kumaon and Garhwal divisions participated in the great movement organized under the banner of various organizations including NMOPS.

Demand for reinstatement of OPS and abolition of TET, mega movement of teachers and employees in Dehradun

The agitators demanded the restoration of the old pension system, saying it was related to the future social and economic security of the employees. At the same time, the teachers also prominently raised the demand of ending the mandatory nature of TET and appealed to the government to take a decision soon.

During the demonstration, the employees raised slogans and put forth their demands strongly. The organizations warned that if a positive decision on the demands is not taken soon, the agitation will be continued further.
