Haridwar (Kapil Kumar). Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm as Bravery Day in the district. In the program organized under the joint aegis of District Soldier Welfare and District Administration, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit paid tribute to the Kargil martyrs by paying floral tributes and said that the problems of the soldiers, ex-servicemen and the families of the martyrs will be solved on priority.
In the program, the brave women and families of the martyred soldiers of the district were honored by giving them shawls and mementos. Besides, NCC cadets and medal winning students of Sports Department were also honoured. Mayor Kiran Jaisal paid tribute to the supreme sacrifice of the brave martyrs of Kargil and called for maintaining the unity and integrity of the country. Meanwhile, District Legal Services Authority Secretary Simranjit Kaur gave information about free legal aid schemes to the soldiers and their families. District Soldier Welfare Officer Dr. Sarita Panwar along with ex-servicemen, officers, NCC cadets and employees of various departments were present in the program.
