According to the police, Imran, a resident of village Sihchandi, police station Bhagwanpur, had lodged a complaint at Kotwali Laksar on July 20 that on July 14, four unknown miscreants had looted Rs 1 lakh by assaulting him, abusing him and threatening to kill him. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered at Kotwali Laksar and investigation was started. Considering the seriousness of the matter, on the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, a special police team was formed under the leadership of Inspector-in-charge Laksar. The team scrutinized the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the area, linked the links of the incident with the help of manual investigation at the local level and the informer system and first arrested a female accused with the looted money on July 28. After the arrest of the main accused, other accused were continuously trying to avoid arrest by changing their locations. The police team, carrying out continuous raids and intensive search operations, arrested four other accused from Laksar area on July 31. Police have also recovered the looted money from their possession. According to the police, advance legal action is being taken against all the accused. In this case, along with robbery, charges of assault, abuse and threatening to kill are also registered against the accused. Police say that the role of the entire gang is also being investigated.
