In connection with the preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027, Additional Fair Officer Dayanand Saraswati conducted on-site inspection of various construction projects on Monday. He took stock of the double lane bridge under construction at Khadkhadi Marg, the rising main project being laid from Laljiwala to the dry river, the proposed pedestrian friendly footpath in Bilkeshwar temple area and the maintenance and revitalization works of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Guest House. During the inspection, the Additional Fair Officer directed the officials of the concerned departments to complete all the work with high quality within the stipulated time. He also stressed on regular third party inspection of construction works. Drinking Water Corporation officials said that about 95 percent work of the Rising Main project costing ₹90.31 lakh has been completed and the remaining work will be completed soon.
Apart from this, the proposed footpath construction plan in Bilkeshwar temple area was also discussed with the officials. Under this scheme, approximately 4.5 km long pedestrian friendly footpaths will be developed to connect major temples of Haridwar, at an estimated cost of ₹784.05 lakh. The objective of the project is to ensure safe and smooth movement of devotees during the Kumbh Mela.
