Governor inspected Kanwar Mela control room, laid emphasis on AI based monitoring system.

Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (retd) reached Haridwar on Tuesday and took stock of the arrangements for the Kanwar Mela. He inspected the state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance system installed in the fair control room and obtained detailed information from the officials about security, crowd management, traffic system, cleanliness and facilities being provided to the devotees.

During the inspection, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar informed the Governor about the major routes of Kanwar Yatra, sensitive places, monitoring being done through CCTV cameras, functioning of the control room and coordination between various departments. Gave information.

The Governor said that the safety and convenience of every devotee coming to the Kanwar Mela should be the top priority of the administration. He instructed the officials that in view of the ever increasing number of devotees, all the arrangements should be ensured in advance and adequate deployment of resources and manpower should be made as per the requirement. He said that by learning from the experiences of last year, the arrangements should be made more effective this time. Besides, emphasis was also laid on establishing better coordination with the cooperation of voluntary organizations, social organizations and local citizens.

While reviewing the cleanliness system in the fair area, the Governor gave instructions for effective operation of the mechanized cleaning system. He said that a clean and safe environment should be provided to the devotees by ensuring regular cleaning in the entire fair area.

He directed all the officers and employees on duty to give proper briefing regarding their responsibilities, so that quick and coordinated action can be taken in any emergency. He also talked about honoring officers, employees and volunteers who have done excellent work. The Governor laid special emphasis on the use of modern technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the operation of the Kanwar Mela and said that AI can play an important role in surveillance, crowd control and disaster management. After the inspection, the Governor reached Brahmakund in Harki Paidi, where he participated in the worship and aarti of Mother Ganga as per the rituals. He wished for the happiness, prosperity, peace and welfare of the state and countrymen along with the safe and successful conduct of Kanwar Yatra from Mother Ganga.

On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner Nandan Kumar, SP Communication Vipin Kumar, SP Traffic Nisha Yadav, Additional District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar, Additional Kumbh Mela Magistrate Dayanand Saraswati, City Magistrate Har Giri, Deputy District Magistrate Yogesh Kumar, CO City Shishupal Singh Negi, CO Traffic Bipendra Kumar along with senior officials of fair administration, police administration and various departments were present.
