Haridwar Chief Electoral Officer, Uttarakhand Dr.B.V.R.C. Purushottam on Monday held a review meeting with the concerned officials of the Special Intensive Review (SIR-2026) conducted in Haridwar district. He directed the concerned officers to make the voter list completely error-free, transparent and updated. He said that the name of any eligible person should not be separated from the voter list and the name of any ineligible person should not be included in the voter list. He said that for the successful implementation of SIR, there should be mandatory communication with the representatives of political parties every week and any discrepancy and notice should be resolved by hearing them at the BLO level. He has instructed all the officers that the work of SIR should be done successfully with transparency and mutual coordination. During the meeting, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit informed the Chief Electoral Officer about the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) campaign conducted in the district. He informed that 90.54 percent work of digitization of voters in the district has been completed. Notices have been issued as per rules to 92,594 voters of 'No Mapping' category and discrepancies found in the voter list. All these cases are being heard at the BLO level as per the prescribed procedure. Chief Electoral Officer held a meeting with representatives of political parties. He has informed the representatives of all political parties that the work of special intensive revision in the district is being successfully conducted under the direction of District Magistrate Mayur Dixit. He said that the notices issued on discrepancies will be heard at the BLO level only and regarding unmapped voters, he said that the verification process will be completed on the basis of any one of the prescribed 11 documents, so that the eligible voters do not face any kind of inconvenience. He has assured the representatives of political parties that no voter's name will be removed without notice. The Chief Electoral Officer expressed satisfaction over the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) campaign under the leadership and direction of District Magistrate Mayur Dixit in Haridwar district. He said that the campaign is being conducted well and successfully in the district. For this, he encouraged all the officers including the District Magistrate, AERO, BLO and all the personnel engaged in election work and gave instructions to work with the same dedication and transparency.

After the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer inspected the BHEL Kendriya Vidyalaya polling booth located in Ranipur assembly constituency. He obtained information from the BLO posted at the booth about voter verification, notice distribution and maintenance of records being done under special intensive vetting and gave necessary guidelines. On this occasion, MLA Furkan Ahmed, Additional District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar, City Magistrate Hargiri, Deputy District Magistrate Yogesh Mehra, Deputy District Magistrate Laksar Anil Kumar Shukla, SLO Akash Joshi, Joint Magistrate Deepak Ramchandra Seth, Deputy District Magistrate Bhagwanpur Devendra Singh Negi and Municipal Commissioner Roorkee including representatives of political parties, District Metropolitan Congress Committee Aman Garg, Chandrapal Singh, Rajendra Chaudhary, Kailash Chandra, Chandrapal Singh, CPI Rajeev Garg, District President Bahujan Samaj Party Madan Pal, District Development Officer KK Pant, Assistant Election Officer Arunesh Painuli, District Information Officer Rati Lal Shah, District Panchayat Raj Officer Mohammad Khan, Chief Administrative Officer Dharampal Singh Rawat and other officers and employees were present.
